Lopen Singye Samdrup is a Cultural Specialist with the Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development (DCDD), Ministry of Home Affairs, and has dedicated his career to the preservation, documentation, and promotion of Bhutan's cultural heritage. With extensive experience in cultural research, heritage management, and policy implementation, he has played a key role in safeguarding Bhutan's tangible and intangible cultural heritage through national programmes, field documentation, and institutional initiatives.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to numerous cultural heritage projects involving the documentation, inventorying, and promotion of Bhutan's living traditions, traditional knowledge, and cultural practices. He has collaborated with government agencies, local communities, academic institutions, and international partners to strengthen heritage conservation and cultural transmission. As a cultural expert and resource person, he has participated in research projects, workshops, conferences, and capacity-building programmes, providing technical guidance on heritage preservation and policy implementation. His work continues to support the Department's mission of safeguarding Bhutan's unique cultural identity while promoting the sustainable transmission of its cultural heritage to future generations.
